EVERYBODY READS EXHIBITIONS!

The nights of horizontal readings entitled “Everybody Reads[…]” that are inspired by the idea of “open work,” horizontal structures, and the slogan by Roberto Bolaño – “Reading is always more important than writing”.

Everyone attending participates by reading something – a letter, a sentence, found or written poem, text message, short essay, etc. according to a chosen topic. Although the format may resemble a hybrid between the Speakers’ Corner at the Hyde Park and the Anonymous Alcoholics, the event generates surprisingly varying collections of opinions, voices and texts chosen or written and read by anyone willing to participate.

This night we will read exhibitions. Please bring an invitation letter, PR, exhibition title, crowd a line, name a work, describe a portrait of your favourite exhibition attendant or pen a review.  Let’s read together exhibitions that never existed before.

EVERYBODY READS!

You start. Erratic
comets commenting verbatim.
All languages, including
forgotten, made up,
and the machine ones.
Random destinations,
side effects, pluralist trips.

EVERYBODY READS EXHIBITIONS!

“A dressed male” vs. “addressed mail.”
A mouth is better than a pen.
An ear is worse than lips.
Italic is better than a bold underlining.
Better is worse. Naturally,

EVERYBODY READS!

Previous iterations include “Everybody Reads Feminism” at Santa Fe feminist club in Vilnius, Lithuania, “Everybody Reads Hybrids” at Nida Art Colony, Lithuania, “Everybody Reads the News!” at the Baltic Art Centre, Visby, Sweden, “Everybody Reads” at Fokidos and the Ruler artists’ spaces in Athens and Helsinki, accordingly.
