Michal Vaníček curator of the Ópera exhibition in Milan

September 6 – 9th, 2021
Czech Center Milan, Via Giovanni Battista Morgagni, 20, Milan, Italy

Michal Vaníček, a Ph.D. student at the Department of Theory and History of Art and methodologist in the Department of Applied Arts, also works as a curator of many exhibition projects. His latest feat is a curatorially adapted footwear collection "Opera" made by designer and former dancer Oldrich Voyta.

Oldrich Voyta presented his collection of fashionable high-heeled shoes with biomechanically suitable foot supports made of up-cycled materials from the Polstrin company at the Milano Design Week, on the premises of the Czech Center in Milan.

The exhibition is complemented by photographs set in the National Theater in Prague. The National Theater is behind the inspiration of the "Ópera" collection, which is based on the atmosphere of the theatre and the ephemerality of ballet.
