The Academy of Arts, Architecture, and Design in Prague (UMPRUM) presents DIPLOMA SHOW 2018, featuring 107 final diploma projects. Diploma projects are considered the last big event of the entire school year. The exhibition presents the work of all bachelors and masters students from the school’s current student body. It is a testament to what the school has given the students, and how they managed to use their education for personal growth.

The exhibited works can also be seen outside of the school’s walls, in many different places around Prague. For example, on the day of the opening, it will be possible to see the work of the Studio of Film and TV Graphics on the big screen at Bio Ponrepo. The sculpture studio moved the work of the master’s alumni students to the Hybernská campus. An exhibition of recent graduates from the Studio of Supermedia can be seen at City Surfer Office and at the taxi boat stop on Rohanský Ostrov. The courtyard of the dance conservatory, which directly adjoins the UMPRUM will also be full of UMPRUM alumni work from the studios of Product Design, Furniture and Interior Design, and Photography.

After many years it will be possible to view diploma thesis projects in the UM Gallery. The exhibition Naskle, balíme! will present the works of four graduates from the Glass Studio. The unifying element of the otherwise varying artistic styles will be the use of semi-transparent packing materials normally used in packing glass.

Rather than showing individual experiments DIPLOMA SHOW 2018 exhibits results that can be put into practice, where students demonstrate a level of maturity and are prepared to work on their own and build a career in the various branches of art, design, and architecture. Many of the exhibiting students during their studies received awards in prestigious not only domestic competitions, they underwent foreign internships and had the opportunity to work on projects for major companies.
