František Jungvirt and Milan Pekař are part of the Czech Concept Store at Paris Design Week 2021

  9. 9. 2021 – 18. 9. 2021

Sales Gallery of the Czech Center Paris, 18 rue Bonaparte, Paris, France

František Jungvirt, a student of the Glass Studio, and Milan Pekař a teacher of the UMPRUM Ceramics and Porcelain Studio had the opportunity to present their work at Paris Design Week 2021.

The new collection and presentation of Czech designers, which also included these two authors, was prepared by the Czech Concept Store in the sales gallery of the Czech Center Paris. One of the criteria for selecting the works was sustainability.

A collection of glass vases and a set of František Jungvirt's utility glass called Shadows designed for KLIMCHI were selected for the exhibition. Designer and ceramicist Milan Pekař was represented at the exhibition by Elements porcelain vases, which are based on the transition of matt, crystalline glazes.

Curator Danica Kovářová has put together the selection of exhibitors in the sales gallery of the Czech Center Paris to offer “names that have recently succeeded not only at home but also internationally. Not at exhibitions or competitions, but in the wild, where there is an unfriendly market environment for foreigners and novices, but despite all of that they have established themselves and are succeeding on their own."
