Habib William Kherbek: Crypto (cult)ures

Workshop I: NFT Time

Monday, March 21, 3 pm
UMPRUM, nam. Jana Palacha 80, Prague 1, lecture room 215

The Department of Fine Arts invites you for Habib William Kherbek´s lecture and workshop Crypto (cult)ures - NFT Times.

This workshop will consider the recent furore around the NFT (Non-Fungible Token). The NFT will be discussed in relation to its status as a mechanism for value creation, but also in relation to its potential as a creative form of its own. A presentation also will be provided elaborating the creation and publication process of NFTs for artists new to the discourse. During the meeting we will discuss the technical and economic aspects of the NFT, but also NFT artworks of significance, and place them in the context of the longer lineage of digital art forms. Another major topic for the workshop will be the ways in which the NFT market resembles, but also differs from, historical art markets.
