Matúš Buranovský: Regulated Suffering
OPENING: 18th September 2019 at 7 p.m.
19. 9. – 12. 10. 2019

NIKA Gallery, Metro B Karlovo náměstí hall (direction Palackého náměstí)

The site-specific installation of Matúš Buranovský, a Graphic Design and New Media Studio graduate, is based on the symbolic regulation of the wildest of the streets - graffiti.

In his project he works with two counterparts which he finds in the generally accepted view of street art on one hand and in his own positive attitude to it on the other. Together with the graffiti artist Honza Hrnčíř, he sprayed the exhibition glass of the Nika Gallery to subsequently regulate this disturbance into a gallery affair in front of the eyes of the visitors. The main element of the exhibition, however, does not become the content of the depicted, but a kind of balancing between two at first glance incompatible worlds, whose interconnection can be an instrument of their depletion.
