The short film, titled "The Glass Stories", made by Brina Steblovnik (MA student of UMPRUM's Visual Arts program and Glass studio) in collaboration with a Slovenian designer and videographer Simon Bregar has been accepted to GLASS MEET THE FUTURE international film festival, organised by North Lands Creative in collaboration with Toyama Institute of Glass Art (JP), MAD Museum of Art and Design New York (USA).
"The Glass Stories" were partially filmed in Pohorje (SLO), Novy Bor and at UMPRUM, Prague (CZ), where the authors have been studying. Through the film Brina narrated a story of disappearing glass craft in her country, juxtaposed by scenes from the lively glass community in the north of Czech Republic, focusing on depictions of skill and beauty of glass forming.
Glass Meet the Future festival will take place in three locations this year. First of which will take place online 20.3. - 4.4.2021 through the web page of North Lands Creative (https://northlandscreative.co.uk). "The Glass Stories" will be screened on 24.3. at 12 am and will stay available till the end of the festival. The admission is free of charge.
Following this event, the screening will be repeated in Toyama Institute of Glass Art in Japan and Museum of Art and Design in New York later in the year, if the pandemic measurements permit it.
