Vendulka Prchalová's exhibition Mixtures represents a part of her dissertation project, she studies in the Studio of Glass led by Rony Plesl. The project focuses on the innovation of materials and processes related to mold-making for kiln cast glass.

“Vendulka presents her cast glass sculptures as they utilize a related visual language, which is generated through work in 3D programs. The objects themselves consist of compositions composed of two simple but completely different and inherently ambivalent symbols, namely the dog and the cube. Here she connects at first sight what appears to be unconnectable, and with this composition these two symbols take on new meaning.”
, as Michal Vaníček draws the exhibited objects nearer.

The theme of the works is not the only unusual element. The visual approach is similar to the treatment of creating the objects. When computer-designed models and elements are realized on a 3D printer and then translated into crystal glass they become such distant materials. The results are surreal sculptures in which the artists multiplies individual symbols or their parts into new objects. This creates some uncertainty, enhanced by the contrast between organic and geometric shapes. The purity of the selected material is disturbed by other added materials, which also serves as a connecting element of individual parts of each object - for example; leather belts, rubber bands, bandages, and remains of the mold material, etc.

The installation, done by the artist and curator, adds to the magical atmosphere of these hard-to-grasp sculptures. They set the exhibition against a white airy space with soft lighting resembling the sky. The objects placed on light panels encircling the clouds of finely rustling paper and give the whole exhibition a spirit of a transcendental environment.
