Principles of the European Charter

 

The European Charter for Researchers is based on four main pillars.  

These pillars comprise 20 specific principles that define a high-quality working environment for researchers and support their professional development. The Charter principles form the basis of the HR Excellence in Research process and are reflected in the measures being developed at UMPRUM.

The four pillars of the European Charter 

The European Charter defines four main areas of support for researchers: 

1. ETHICAL INTEGRITY, GENDER AND OPEN SCIENCE

Research is conducted freely and responsibly, in accordance with ethical principles and with respect for equal opportunities and the open sharing of knowledge. 

2. RESEARCHER´S ASSESSMENT, RECRUITMENT AND PROGRESSION

Transparent recruitment and assessment procedures support fair career progression. 

3. WORKING CONDITIONS AND PRACTICES

Providing an environment that supports high-quality research, creative activity and equitable working conditions. 

4. RESEARCH CAREERS AND TALENT DEVELOPMENT

Supporting researcher´s professional development through training, mentoring and international cooperation.
