Students will receive a confirmation of their student status to obtain a student discount on Prague public transportation

The “buddy for everybody” is introduced to the students to provide them with practical guidance and personal help.

The welcome week also includes two guided tours of Prague, basic health and safety training in UMPRUM workshops and a talk about Czech society and cultur.

Enrolment in study & getting access to UMPRUM systems

Students are enrolled in study at UMPRUM by the coordinator of the incoming exchanges approx. one week before the date of the welcome session.

The day following the date when students were enrolled in study at UMPRUM application codes will be generated and sent to the enrolled students via email. After receiving their application code students can log in to the First password application. They will get their UMPRUM username and will be asked to set their own password. Having your UMPRUM username and password students can log in to all UMPRUM systems and to the UMPRUM intranet website.

UMPRUM psychologist

The UMPRUM psychologist specializes in individual counselling, psychotherapy and crisis intervention in overcoming stressful situations in studies and personal life. Consultations are tailored to the nature of the difficulties, with contact focusing on self-knowledge and personal development, adaptation to change, coping with anxiety and other personal, psychological and interpersonal problems.

UMPRUM ombudsperson

The ombudswoman mediates situations involving human rights violations in all aspects in order to provide assistance to those who approach her.
The UMPRUM ombud’s position is held by Tereza Nešetřil Vejřík and this is how she perceives her role at UMPRUM: “The role of the ombudswoman as that of a professional person with sensitivity to oppression and injustice. An ombudsperson should have an awareness of issues of bullying, discrimination based on race, sexual orientation, identity, religion, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, as well as gaslighting, bossing, mobbing, sexual coercion, and manipulation from a position of power in general.”

International students' rights/responsibilities

International students accepted for studies at UMPRUM are entitled to benefit from the same student advantages as local students, i.e.  to receive a student transport card, to cater in students’ canteens, to have student discounts in museums and galleries, to use equipment in UMPRUM studios, workshops and other premises. They should, however, respect safety rules and technical staff´s instructions.  Students may make full use of the library and the computer centres as well photocopying services.
