The name of the pogram we have been using here at UMPRUM since the beginning of VA in 2007 is a little misleading. One might think that it is a program designed for students from Fine Arts disciplines and that it is the "Visual Arts" studio you apply for and graduate from.
But this is not the case!
Prospective students choose to study in one of the 24 studios UMPRUM has in the Departments of Graphics, Applied Arts, Design, Fine Arts, and Architecture.
What else in short is VA?
a two-year master´s degree course for international students if you choose to study in the studios that belong to the Departmenrts of Design, Fine Arts, Applied Arts, and Graphics
a three-year master´s degree course for international students if you choose to study in the studios that belong to the Departmenrts of Architecture
a course that combines practical studio-based meetings with theoretical lectures on art theory and history
a program designed for BA/BFA or MA/MFA degree holders from universities and schools abroad, irrespective of countra program that aims at providing international students with sound education in their chosen discipline, i.e. studio in order to prepare them for individual and collaborative work in their profession all over the world
a program whose graduates earn an internationally acknowledged academic degree MgA (Magister Artis in Latin) in the discipline they studied f and graduated from (e.g. MgA in Type Design and Typography, MgA in Product Design, etc.). The awarded MgA degree is equivalent to MA degree.
