THE NEW REAL 26 – Digital Fashion Summer Intensive 

 

Digital Fashion Summer Intensive Course The New Real 26 bridges design intuition with data-driven methods, inviting participants to experiment with new ways of thinking, making, and visualising garments. Whether you’re a student or industry professional, The New Real 26 will equip you with cutting-edge 3D design tools and sustainable strategies to reshape the fashion lifecycle. 

The New Real 26 Summer Course is a 9-day intensive program for fashion professionals, digital creators, and design students to develop their skills in digital fashion prototyping and its application. The course is designed to accommodate both beginners and advanced participants. The curriculum includes learning the basics of CLO3D and additionally some bits of Adobe Suite Applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, Substance Painter) and Blender. Practical workshops are combined with inspiring talks from industry professionals who are successfully working in this field. Participants learn skills they can later apply in this fast-growing area of digital craftsmanship. 

 

Participants will acquire immediately applicable competencies in:

  • Digital pattern making and prototyping

  • Import & export of patterns

  • Avatar sizing and posing

  • Virtual material development and texturing

  • Trims and closures

  • Rendering & presentation

Ineke Siersema
Educator | Designer | Innovator in 3D Digital Fashion Design | MA Ed

Ineke Siersema (AMFI, Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences) has a background in costume and electronic design and has been pioneering 3D technology and virtual prototyping in fashion education since 2007. Her work bridges design, art, research, and technology through teaching, projects such as THE NEW REAL (AMFI & UMPRUM) and the EU research project *TRANSITIONS. Through her company 3DTODESIGN and as a CLO3d specialist, she offers international lectures, training, and consultancy in virtual fashion innovation.

 

Žil J Vostalová

Visual Artist | Fashion Researcher | Digital Design Specialist. 

Her research focus is on investigating the convergencies of traditional crafts and digital garment technologies, postcolonial materiality in digital fashion infrastructure and zero-waste methodologies in hybrid (physical-digital) fashion systems. Her practice-led research develops experimental fashion works for audiovisual media. She has specialised in 3D fashion prototyping for over 10 years.

Cancellation policy:
Cancellation of participation in the Lifelong Learning Programme at the University of Applied Arts in Prague (hereinafter referred to as UMPRUM) by the participant:

If the participant fails to attend the course, the fee paid will not be refunded.

If the participant is unable to attend the course, he/she may be replaced by a substitute over 18 years of age. This change can be made no later than 4 days before the course (by notifying the contact person by e-mail: Šárka Hastrmanová, sarka.hastrmanova@umprum.cz. The paid fee is then transferred to the substitute.

Cancellation of participation in the course must be made by sending a cancellation notice to kurzy@umprum.cz. We will then refund the participation fee or a prorated portion of it, according to the following rules:

a) cancellation 30 days or more before the course - 100% of the fee is refunded.

b) 21 - 29 days before the course - 50% of the fee will be refunded

c) 11 - 20 days before the course - 30% of the fee will be refunded

d) 10 days or less before the course - 0% of the fee

The date of the cancellation e-mail is decisive. The administrative fee for cancellation of the course by the participant is 150 CZK. This amount will always be reduced by the refunded course fee (or its proportional part).

If the course is cancelled by UMPRUM (due to illness of the lecturer or other serious reasons):

a) the participant may attend the seminar on an alternative date to be determined by UMPRUM, or

b) the participation fee will be refunded in full by bank transfer to the account from which the seminar was paid, or

c) the fee may be used for another free course as agreed with the participant.
