Iines Kaipanen – Close Contact

March 7, 2026 – end of March 2026
Enoteca Karlín, Karlínské nám. 235, Prague 8
Opening: March 7, 2026, from 6 PM

Student of the Studio of Fine Arts IV in the follow-up master’s program Visual Arts, Iines Kaipanen, presents her series of works on the walls of Enoteca Karlín as part of the exhibition Close Contact.

Iines Kaipanen – Close Contact

The exhibition is based on her upcoming diploma project Close Contact, which will conclude her studies at UMPRUM. For this presentation, Iines has prepared a series of images from her personal archive, which she has reworked and recontextualized for the space of Enoteca Karlín.

This project began in 2018 and continues to evolve to this day. It spans three cities — Helsinki, London, and Prague — documenting the artist’s life through a non-linear and semi-autobiographical narrative that captures the vivid and chaotic lives of her friends. The series is intimately expressive and full of secrets.

DJ TANI0KA will perform at the vernissage.

Iines Kaipanen is a Finnish artist working across mixed media, specifically photography, printmaking, and video. She reworks and experiments with found materials, repurposing them to create new outcomes and give new life to both old and recent work. Her approach is maximalist — she enjoys gathering, accumulating, and building archives, both physically and digitally. Her main focus is auto-ethnographic, centered around the people close to her, herself, and how these relationships shape and drive her creative process.
