JAROSLAV VÍCH - Paulin

Collection Paulin is based on the work of Pierre Paulin (1927—2009) who was a French interior and furniture designer. He created a those days ́ universal furniture style. In the collection I try to find the relationship between the human body and furniture, and elaborate this inspiration into the clothing collection. I draw on his furniture of oval shapes, bold colours and materials. I am seeking to find a way how to make a fashion collection from the furniture design, and still preserve the style and thought of the designer I base my work on. I also attempt to work with similar materials the armchairs and sofas are made of, which means I work with soft foam and aluminium wire, as well as wool and lycra swimsuit fabric.
