Cyril Říha specialises in urban theory and contemporary architecture. He graduated from the Faculty of Arts at Charles University. At UMPRUM he is a associate professor at the Department of Theory and History of Art and a methodologist at the Department of Architecture. He is a member of the expert evaluation committee of the TAČR SIGMA programme, the board of the "Dagmar and Václav Havel Foundation VIZE 97 Award" project and the editorial board of the magazine Vesmír, as well as the Doctoral Committee and the Study Programme Council of the school. Until 2022 he was the principal investigator of the NAKI II project "Architecture and Czech Politics from the 19th to 21st Centuries" and a member of the research team of the TA ČR grant "Art and Design as Solution of Traffic Changes Connected to Ascent of Autonomous Driving". He is currently involved in a large NAKI III project " Sites of creativity. Arts and crafts education: constructing identites, saving the heritage of the past, designing the future".
