This practice-oriented workshop led by the ensemble D’epog will open up themes of personal courage, the radicality of artistic expression, playfulness, boundary-crossing, and working with extremes as a dramaturgical starting point. Through physical and imaginative exercises, participants will explore tactics of survival, adaptation, and the ways in which discomfort, destabilization, or stepping outside one’s comfort zone can become artistically productive.
The workshop offers an introduction to the fundamentals of acting and performative training — from the emergence of a psychophysical impulse to the articulation and fixation of action. The core of the work will focus on developing energy work, attention, inner concentration, and the conscious presence of the body in space.
In addition to practical work, the workshop will also include collective reflection, discussion, and screenings of a curated selection of audiovisual reference materials. The workshop provides an opportunity to gain insight into D’epog’s creative methods, which draw on the principles of spatial dramaturgy, performance art, and the philosophy of the sovereign artistic gesture.
HARMONOGRAM
The workshop is conceived as an intensive one-day event and will take place in Czech with the possibility of english translation on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Kafkárna / UMPRUM Centre for Art and Ecology.
1st session >>> 10:00–14:00
2nd session >>> 16:00–19:00
The sessions are separated by a lunch (regeneration) break.
EQUIPMENT
We recommend clothing suitable for physical activity, i.e. comfortable sportswear and footwear appropriate for both indoor and outdoor use. Elbow and knee pads are optional depending on individual needs. We also recommend bringing a towel, your own drinks, and maintaining proper hydration throughout the day.

D’epog is a platform for contemporary performative art. The collective has been active on the Czech independent scene in the city of Brno since 2010. Its long-term activities include the creation of regular stage productions, one-off performances, experimental artistic projects, and educational activities in the form of practical workshops and specialized labs.
