Opening Reception: 23 June 2026, 6:00–10:00 PM
UMPRUM, Kasárna Karlín, Křižíkova 20/12, Prague 8
During the exhibition opening, exhibitions in both buildings will be open to the public.

How are UMPRUM students prepared for their professional careers, and what have they gained from their studies at the school? The exhibition Diploma and Bachelor´s Works regularly presents the final works of its graduating students. During the showcase, the school is transformed into one large exhibition. The audience is given the opportunity to explore in detail the final projects, visions, as well as the artistic and craft skills behind them directly in the place of their creation and production—the UMPRUM Technology Center and, newly, also Kasárna Karlín.

Diplomas and Bachelor´s Works 2026

The exhibition will present more than 120 graduate works from the fields of architecture, design, graphic design, applied arts, and fine arts. Works from the Department of Architecture, the Department of Applied Arts, and selected works from the Departments of Graphic Design and Fine Arts will be installed at the UMPRUM Technology Center. Kasárna Karlín will host works from the Department of Design, as well as additional projects from the Departments of Graphic Design and Fine Arts. Many of the projects reflect current social issues and offer ideas for improvement across various areas, whether in everyday life, care, or environmental concerns.

“UMPRUM has this year achieved two excellent successes: a high ranking in the QS World University Rankings and inclusion in the highest category within the national evaluation of research organizations. But I am also very pleased with the Diploma and Bachelor´s Works exhibition, which for me is further evidence of the creativity of our recent graduates. It shows how studies at UMPRUM develop talent and technical skills, while also encouraging reflection on current events and innovative solutions to social problems,” says UMPRUM Rector Prof. Jindřich Vybíral, commenting on this year’s graduating students’ work.

In addition to urgent themes, the exhibition Diploma and Bachelor´s Works 2026 is unified by a shared graphic visual identity. The spatial design of the exhibition in the entrance hall of the UMPRUM Technology Center in Mikulandská works with scaffolding tubes that until recently formed part of a temporary art installation on the façade of the historic building. The relocation of the scaffolding as a supporting structure for the exhibited works creates a subtle exhibition landscape, aiming to present the works in the widest possible range available within the school. The installation is authored by the duo Dominik Lang and Adéla Vavříková. “In this case, we also aimed to ensure full barrier-free access in the UMPRUM Technology Center building by using assisted stair-climbing devices. In the historic building of Kasárna Karlín, this remains a challenge for future events,” say the authors of the architectural concept.

The exhibition can be seen as a symbolic gateway into the next stage of creative practice, confirming that the students are prepared for their own professional careers and have something to offer society. Visitors can see the quality of their readiness for themselves until Tuesday, the 30th of June.
