On November 6–7, 2025, the two-day FashionTEX Festival took place at Die Fabrik in Chemnitz. The event was organized under the auspices of the FashionTex project, whose concept is based on transforming the fashion industry through comprehensive digitalization, innovative textile technologies, and the use of artificial intelligence.
Selected students from UMPRUM, Alice Grebáčová and Alžběta Drcmánková, presented their designs together with 22 other international students from the project’s partner European universities during the festival’s final fashion show.
The festival also featured discussions and presentations by invited experts, who focused on the challenges and opportunities currently facing the fashion industry.
The EU project FashionTEX Festival created the first platform on the site of a former factory in Chemnitz, building on the location’s textile tradition and rich industrial history. The event itself emphasized that fashion is not only an economic factor but also a cultural expression of innovation and change.
