Any-Body
Any-Body is an installation about chronic pain and its reiteration, a space in which its sensory and emotional qualities are reified. Chronic illness transforms the place we inhabit; places that are usually linked with rest and comfort become sites of a burden in a game that juxtaposes soft and hard materials.
The bed, as an intimate space of relaxation, becomes hard, cold, and stiff, cast out of concrete; meanwhile, the MRI tunnel, resembling the clinical path, translates from a sterile object to a soft, handmade structure that endlessly shows, on its inside, a series of facial expressions sliding from smiles into grimaces, echoing the exhausting repetition of the singular question: "How are we feeling today?".
The installation is a call to visibility and to the understanding of illness as a permanent condition, therefore, as a shared political reality, an invitation to bend the system to tenderness, to resilience, and to the presence of any-body.
