Invitation to Explore Architecture at UMPRUM | Studio A2 – Future Architectures Platform
Dear Prospective Students,
How should we study architecture? At UMPRUM’s Department of Architecture, we believe the answer lies in a constant process of experimentation, collaboration, and imagination. Among the four architectural studios at UMPRUM, Studio A2 | Future Architectures Platform (A2|FAP), led by Eva Franch i Gilabert, is dedicated to rethinking how architecture can be taught, practiced, and imagined.
Our studio is not only about designing buildings. It is about inventing new forms of living that support a freer, more equitable society. We explore ideas of co-operation, co-financing, co-living, co-working, co-education, and co-creation. At A2|FAP, we ask: What futures are possible? And what role can architects play in making them real?
English is the primary working language of the studio, making it an international platform that welcomes applicants from the Czech Republic and from around the world.
If you are a high school student in the Czech Republic—or anywhere in the world—curious about design, culture, and the role architecture plays in society, we encourage you to join us, meet our community, and discover what your future in architecture could look like at UMPRUM.

✦ About Eva Franch i Gilabert ✦
Eva Franch is an architect, curator, and educator internationally recognized for her leadership in architectural education and cultural institutions. She has directed the Architectural Association in London and Storefront for Art and Architecture in New York, curated exhibitions worldwide, and lectured extensively on the future of design and education. At UMPRUM, her focus is on reimagining architectural pedagogy as a collective and experimental project where young designers can actively shape the future.
